Fabric Study:
Finding the small values in the fabric while still making it a cohesive one piece of fabric was difficult. I struggled with making the dark spots not to dark. Charcoal on paper, 1-2 class hours.

Hand Study: Pencil on Paper, I prefer charcoal as a study medium. Pencil takes me longer if I do it properly and didn't want to spend hours on my hand so I did hatching and tried to block in the main message to get the point across.
Mrs. Yvonne Figure drawing: I loved how this piece turned out. I blocked in the general shades of her dress and then started rendering the shadows and highlights and wrinkles of her dress. I struggled with getting the proportions of her neck and head correct but I think it turned out nicely. Love how her legs and boots turned out. I added in a window view of a beautiful landscape. The perspective under the chair and the window had me struggling a bit but I think it turned out nicely.
Mrs. Harris Figure Study: Mrs. Harris had a smooth sort of sweater and I think I rendered that sweater nicely. although Mrs. Harris shirt was grey/black I exaggerated the values in order to add interest. I struggled with the hands and wish I fixed the eyes slightly to make them look a bit more relaxed.
Cultural Still Life: Wow! look at that pencil work. I love how this piece turned out. with the photo the dark blacks of the left side don't seem to show through.... not sure why. I had a hard time giving that difference in white and black while not crushing the paper.
Love for Michigan Art Contest: I stitched a couple pictures together. a beautiful picture of the frozen lake, a cute lighthouse up north. Myself at around 13 years old proudly holding a piece of hard snow shaped as a mitten! I believe this accurately shows my love for michigan I love the snow and winter times. The beautiful sunsets and colors :D
Short Charcoal figure studies! Was working on accurately capturing proportions as fast as possible.
